About Me

I am a reproductive justice and health equity scholar. I am fascinated by the ways in which our social structures and policies deny or grant access to, and quality of, health for certain populations. I believe health disparities are an intentional product of white supremacy and that maternal child health statistics can be indicators of national population level health. I strive to apply my findings within academia to real-world initiatives to improve the outcomes of Black birthing people. My three main areas of research are maternal health, population health and racial health disparities.

My experiences in the workplace, abroad, in the classroom, and research office collectively contributed to my success thus far and continue to fuel my eagerness to learn. I am committed to striving for equity in the maternal health field and the greater public health sphere.

I earned my BS in Public Health Sciences with a focus area in Global Women's Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, my MPH in Health Policy and Management from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and I am currently pursuing my PhD in Health Services Research, Policy & Administration from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
