This year’s IAPHS conference in Minneapolis, MN will take place from Tuesday, September 20th through Friday, September 23rd.

Building upon our themes from the last few conferences, we continue to address health inequities for the 2022 IAPHS Annual Meeting by focusing on interdisciplinary approaches aimed at understanding and addressing health inequities. The persistence of health inequities underscores an urgent need to reevaluate traditional approaches to serving the public’s needs and to explore innovative solutions-oriented approaches to achieving health equity.

This year’s IAPHS conference in Minneapolis, MN aims to advance the state of the population health science on critical health equity research and practice and to promote and support the capacity to get us closer to achieving population health equity. In both existing and novel research, there is a need to develop and evaluate evidence-based population-level solutions to inequities that are driven largely by social, economic, and environmental factors. Many existing and emerging methodologies and methods are being utilized and developed to understand and address multiple forms of oppression, and ultimately health inequities, yet there are few spaces in which these are being delivered and debated. IAPHS’s role as a specifically interdisciplinary association makes the conference unique as a venue for bringing into conversation and synthesizing diverse disciplinary perspectives
